Direction and Purpose of Mini Soccer
Mini soccer is about having fun and playing fair while developing soccer skills that are age appropriate. Also building friendships and discovering a love of the game. The aim in every practice and game is to provide the boys and girls plenty of action and enjoyment. We remind players, parents and coaches that while games are exciting, the focus should be on teamwork and sportsmanship- NOT winning or losing… a soccer FEAST
Fun-                     has to be an essential requirement of every exercise, at every practice/game
Everyone-          must receive an equal opportunity of involvement- in other words, equal time
Activity-             must be the core of the soccer sessions because it affects every other part of the FEAST
Skills-                  must be developed for the greater enjoyment of soccer, through greater accomplishment
Team play-        must be included in ever activity because soccer is a “team” game
Give the players a FEAST and whether the main course is the tastiest pizza or the sweetest of sports, you must avoid giving them too much to digest.

TEAM ROSTERS
Team rosters have been finalized.  If for any reason you need to have your child moved to a different team, you must contact a member of the committee. Family and friends are always welcome to come and watch a practice or game, however only children registered with the club are permitted to participate in practices and games due to liability reasons. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

PRACTICE AND GAME SCHEDULES
As you know, mini soccer will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:30. Practices will be held on Thursdays and games will be played on Mondays. Game schedules will be completed mid June so until the game schedule is confirmed the teams will practice both Mondays and Thursdays.  It is difficult to play as a team if we do not practice as a team.
Note Change - We will be hosting our 21st annual premier soccer tournament on August 9th, 10th and 11th so any mini practice for that Thursday night will be held on Wednesday, August 7th. All of our mini players and parents are encouraged to come out and watch the games throughout the weekend! If any parents are interested in volunteering for this tournament please contact the soccer complex for more information.
WEATHER
Parents/Guardians should use their own discretion, but here are a few notes to keep in mind:
-Mini soccer will automatically be cancelled in the event of thunder and lightning.
-Practices will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain, however light rain will not affect practices or games.
-If you feel it is too hot for your child to play, you may choose not to come. However, if it’s a game night, please notify one of your child’s team representatives to let them know your intentions.
-A decision about whether mini soccer will be cancelled or not will be made at 4:00 p.m.  that day and announced on the radio at this time on the previously mentioned radio stations. A notice of cancellation will also be made on our Facebook page.
TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE
Preparations are underway for our Mini Fest 2013, which will be held on August 24th. We are pleased to have some corporate sponsorship for the tournament and we are looking forward to a well-organized day of fun and fair play.
A tournament of this magnitude requires the help of many volunteers to make it a success. Within the next couple of weeks a Mini Fest Committee will be established to help out with the tournament.  Please remember that many hands make light work!
YEAR END PARTY
Our year end party will take place on Monday August 26th.  The highlight of the party, as always, is the ‘parent vs. players’ games. All parents and siblings are welcome to participate. There will be treats for the kids, awards for the players, and fun for all.
LETS ALL WORK TOGETHER AND MAKE THIS ONE OF THE BEST MINI SOCCER SEASONS EVER HELD!
